Well it has been a part of our house since November 1st when I decided that if I had to put Halloween decorations away I may as well put up for the next holiday. And yes, even while being on my break (I do have one more shoot this Friday then I swear I an officially done until after Valentine’s Day), I picked up that camera of mine and took a few quick snapshots around the house.
I’ve always wanted to have a wreath with our initial once I got married. This spruce alphabet wreath from Ballard Designs, and I just added a bow. Lucky you, it’s on sale now for $29. The stockings I knit myself. Just kidding, I bought them from Target.
I originally nailed into our wood mantel. When I first did it I looked at my dad and I was like, “Can I do this?” And he just shrugged at me. Then I said, “It’s my house, I’m living here so I’m going to do whatever I want.” Then I changed my mind this year and thought I should get some stocking holders. Those things are expensive by the way, and it was hard to find one that wasn’t tacky like some obnoxious red and green present. Sorry if you own those, clearly I don’t like too much color. Found these snowflake stocking holders at Home Depot for $10.
Do you recognize some of these things? Told you I was going to buy them. The vintage little boy from The French Bee was just too cute. There was a Santa but I decided one was enough. Last night Mr. Wonderful and I watched TWO Christmas movies.
The fox ornament is from Mr. Wonderful when we were engaged, he always gets me fox things and calls me his “Foxy wife,” the shell ornament from our Hawaii honeymoon and the bride and groom one is what my mom made for us for our first Christmas. Our entire tree is going to be neutrals and a lot of ornaments from our travels. I still have some on there from London and the Biltmore Estates in North Carolina, I love picking up ornaments from traveling.
I have presents waiting for my girls Christmas party we do every year – this one is our sixth year with the 8 of us. It’s a miracle we can all make it again with everyone having babies and well, life in general is getting busier. I also have a super rad Pinterest activity, I’ll share that with you after the party!
Oh, and for those who aren’t in Phoenix, it’s 75 degrees here. This is the time of year we have been waiting for!
Diana Elizabeth is getting more custom cabinets installed in her laundry room. She asked for it as her Christmas gift from Mr. Wonderful. Since when does one get that age when you ask for home improvement things for the house as a gift?
