Christmas at America’s Landmark Houses

I am a home decor and garden book hoarder – we have a bookshelf in the laundry room just for my gardening and home repair books! One day, I’d love to have a library built so I can sit back and leisurely sit in a comfy spot, open a book and be captivated by the images on the page while sipping my coffee.

All this to say I love sharing books I discover with you, like this hardcover book and new release from Schiffer PublishingChristmas at America’s Landmark Houses by Patricia Hart McMillan & David Strahan (c/o).

This is Christmas decorating, history, architecture, and interior design wrapped in one sparkling package. This will inspire you with Christmas decorating and if you crazy love Christmas like I do, will encourage that Christmas festivity and spirit!

One of the sweetest things I saw was the book dedication in the front of the book – featuring Luke 2:10, 11 scripture and stating: Dedicated to Jesus, the Christ, and to all the churches across the nation and all around the world that honor him and his message of love.

Amen. What a beautiful dedication.

  • 363 inspiring images of historic house interiors decorated for Christmas
  • Tour historic holiday homes from Filoli to Colonial Williamsburg, and look inside San Antonio’s most beautiful house–the Spanish Governor’s Palace
  • Marvel that a typical ranch-style house was home to two future US presidents, a first lady, and two governors.
  • Some houses’ Christmas decorations are period correct; others are joyfully au courant.

I also like to change my coffee books depending on the season or mood. Get this book for a hostess, or anyone on your Christmas list who loves to decorate!

Each image is stunning and as I poured over each page and talked out loud to myself!

Thank you for a wonderful review. I am only today (June 15, 2017) discovering it. Did you see my 2016 book, “Christmas At Designers’ Homes Across America?” Now, I’m at work on a book for 2018, “Designers Decorate for Christmas.” I must remember to see that you receive review copies of all my books. Merry Christmas! /s/ Patricia (Pat) Hart McMillan
