Palm Spring Windmills: Thankful for New Perspectives and Style Choices
My hotel gift shop sunnies are making another debut on the blog. See dad, I'm wearing them again, thanks for buying them for me! I am a huge sunglass lover, you maybe noticed from my trip to Palm Springs. So while in Palm Springs we also decided to check out the windmills. It's something I see all the time driving to CA from AZ and a spot I've known growing up (I'm a California native) but we've never stopped to look at them. I mean, until you're a blogger.
Instagrammable Palm Springs Spot: The Monkey Tree Hotel
I discovered one of the most Instagrammable spots in Palm Springs I'm excited to share with you in hopes the next time you visit the area you can stay here. The Monkey Tree Hotel was kind to invite us to stay, courtesy of Palm Spring Preferred Small Hotels which is a collection of independent inns, villas and resorts. They are hip, modern, and you can find one that fits your specific needs - check out more hotels here. We picked my birthday weekend because of weather and well, can you think of a better time? I can't wait to show you around the resort and share some cool finds as well as share some of the latest collection of fall from one of my favorite, near and dear to my heart brands, Lilly Pulitzer - because when I think resort, palm trees, and Palm Springs, it's always Lilly attire.
Cactarium in Palm Springs
How was your Thanksgiving, Black Friday, rival football game weekend? My Thanksgiving was delicious as always since we started going to Benjamin's relatives and also get some goody leftovers to enjoy later that night and the next afternoon. We indulged heavily in Black Friday since we had lots of things to buy for the expansion and saved up, more on that in a second. The fact that the items I had been eyeing and saved on Pinterest, were all on sale, we just decided to buy buy buy! When you've been waiting for the right moment then Black Friday and Cyber Monday rolls around, oh boy! My team lost in the territorial cup, but I didn't watch the game since I was decorating the house for Christmas and Mr. Wonderful was hanging Christmas lights.
Jeepin’ and Sight Seeing in Sedona
This past weekend I went exploring with girlfriends in Sedona - and since Emily had never been before, I booked us a Jeep tour! I picked a non-bumpy route I found on Groupon for a good $77 each (Safari Jeep Tour) and it was a wonderful sight-seeing route. This was the third Jeep tour I've been on, the others I've rode on were crazy bumpy up into the rocks (but of course beautiful) however I figured a nice drive was the best idea for Emily's first trip.
Apple Hill, and some pumpkins
I packed my camera for the styling workshop I was attending and decided to bring it along to our morning trip to Apple Hill. I've blogged about this spot around the same time every few years. We went pretty early, made our typical stops and ate lunch and walked around some craft tents. There are a bunch of apple ranchers who sell apple everything. Think Bubba Gump Shrimp but Apple theme and you just drive around this area and stop at these spots and eat and be merry.
Exploring Geysers at Yellowstone in Fall Booties
It looks like I'm in front of a David Copperfield magic trick! If you love booties, or shoes like me, you have to check out the Macy's shoe sale, 30% off a single pair, or buy 2 pairs, you get 40% off! TODAY through October 14 at Macy's. The first day in Yellowstone we checked out geysers at Yellowstone, first the Norris Geyer Basin. Can you believe there is an active volcano under that boiling the water? We stayed at Old Faithful Inn which is by an old famous geyser called Old Faithful that shoots out high gallons of water very high every 90 minutes.
