How was your Thanksgiving, Black Friday, rival football game weekend? My Thanksgiving was delicious as always since we started going to Benjamin’s relatives and also get some goody leftovers to enjoy later that night and the next afternoon.
We indulged heavily in Black Friday since we had lots of things to buy for the expansion and saved up, more on that in a second. The fact that the items I had been eyeing and saved on Pinterest, were all on sale, we just decided to buy buy buy! When you’ve been waiting for the right moment then Black Friday and Cyber Monday rolls around, oh boy! My team lost in the territorial cup, but I didn’t watch the game since I was decorating the house for Christmas and Mr. Wonderful was hanging Christmas lights.
I wanted to share this fun location in Palm Springs, a popular must-see an family owned cactarium called Moorten Botanical Garden.
Walk slowly or stand perfectly still. My poncho was getting caught and I was pointing at things and getting poked and then I decided to keep my hands inside (as you can tell) and walk slowly. But smile, because the camera’s there, haha!
It was so astonishing to see some of these cacti so tall and towering over you, and all together in one pretty place so you don’t have to go combing through the actual desert to find them. And with labels of course, so you know what exactly you are looking at. There is also a small nursery and you can buy a few cacti as souvenirs.
Meanwhile for the past few weeks we have the heat on and I have been loving wearing glimmerwool moccasins from FitFlop inside the house. They are so comfortable and darling. I talked about them so much that my best girlfriend bought a pair for herself. Because when they are that great, you have to share the news, right?
Right now FitFlop is having a Cozy Boots & Slipper Sale to November 31. My mom always buys my dad new house slippers for Christmas it’s so cute, and he gets excited too.
Here are a few of the cozy boots and slippers from FitFlop I’ve added to my collection – Snow boots, these darling Moccasins and these comfy Mukluck shorty suede boots.
We will be stopping in Denver this holiday and I can probably bet it’ll snowing so I’m excited to wear snow boots! I had a pair of pink ones I bought from Amazon over 10 years ago and kept them forever and I finally was like, OK, it’s time to get real ones.
I’ve also been wearing these mukluck shorty suede boots as we went store to store to check out the deals. We are pretty much close to being done with all the necessities for the expansion, really! The couch, rug, floor lamp, tv, tv mount, Nest thermometer (been dying to get one), bathroom decor, and I think that’s it!

I wish I could have a greenhouse but we don’t really get that cold in Phoenix.
I just love Palm Springs, I wish it were closer, but 4 hours from Phoenix really isn’t that far – and then I realized it’s SO close to San Diego now I think when I go to San Diego I can just pop over for a visit. If you want to check out some additional insider tips to visiting Palm Springs here’s a good reference link.
We still need to see a few tile pieces in person and I hope most of these details get squared away with our expansion. I’ll update you soon on the expansion, the framing is up.
I hope you all have a wonderful week!
