I heard a saying that the best thing for your garden is a gardener’s shadow. That means you go out every day and check on your garden.
I walked outside with a limeade in hand, a little SPF 50 gardener’s hat and checked on things. This lovely butterfly was going crazy over my malabar spinach buds so I ran back inside and grabbed my macro lens.
He didn’t seem to mind that I was around.
I also tend to assume everything is a “he” I’m not sure why. I’m very partial to boys for some reason.
Can we admire how pretty malabar spinach is? It needs to grow on a trellis and it can grow through summer. I bought one starter and it went absolutely crazy. The cucumbers and malabar are battling over the cucumber trellis that I had to put another up.
Fall is here, the doors are wide open at our house, and the most perfect weather is shining upon us for the next seven months. I’m so thrilled to spend most of my days outdoors.
Diana Elizabeth now wears the OFF! clip as she’s outside since she’s seen too many skeeters lately enjoying the weather with her. Not cool.
