Botanical Toile Bedding

or years our bedding has been white – a look I adapted from hotel travels. I wasn’t necessarily crazy in love with the look, but it kept things minimal, made feel at peace, and worked for us – we also only had 4 pillows on the bed at a time.

However, our bedroom also never felt quite done. I had painted an accent wall in light blue when I first moved in 8 years ago, and the rest of the walls and ceiling remained the original beige. I love this botanical toile print. Toile print is a repeated surface decoration that usually a detailed a scene, like a rural scene, or people doing an activity, it’s classic!

Because the print is quite busy, I’m glad we painted the walls Sherwin-Williams Alabaster to match the rest of our home. This was the perfect opportunity to make it happen it before the bedding arrived. I have owned this king canopy for a decade, and I love how traditional and classic it is. I know trends and go and I just never saw anything I loved. I’ve also had my lamps for just as long, they truly are classic and I don’t want to replace them. I’m very traditional in home decor and embracing more and more once I recognized that about myself. I still love modern pieces because if I didn’t, our home would surely look like an antique store given my love for the old. I have realized finding the right balance keeps it current.
