Back to L’Auberge de Sedona!

Last weekend we wanted to escape the crazy Phoenix summer heat of 110+ and celebrate Mr. Wonderful’s birthday!  We didn’t want to do it while sweating so, where else would we want to go than 90 minutes north at  L’Auberge de Sedona!

What we love about L’Auberge is that its right off the main street of 87A which is the heart of Sedona and where everything is and is also one of the few resorts that is along Oak Creek.  If you follow them on Facebook they’ll often show you the temperature right at the creek (low 80’s) and compare it to the Phoenix temperature and the room savings!  Read more about the Drop it Like it’s Hot offers here.

We had a beautiful creekside cottage at L’Auberge and of course enjoyed who I call “our friends” at L’Auberge (they seriously know Benjamin as Mr. Wonderful), took advantage of the heat and utilized the beautiful outdoor shower attached to our cottage, and had their yummy room service breakfast every morning!  You might know one of my favorite things about L’Auberge is not only the people who work there, or its amazing and beautiful landscape, but their service. If you’re interested in a nice getaway, book here and tell them I sent you and give them hugs and kisses for us.

Our first night in town we ate at Mesa Grill at the Sedona Airport which has great prime rib if anyone loves red meat as much as I do, and a beautiful view as you drive up.  You can watch the planes land as you eat too.  Great service and food!

We also did a 2 hour jeep tour, which caused me to giggle almost the entire way with the bumps, a bee totally crashed into me and my bright yellow shirt (I still yet to have been stung by a bee in my entire life).  Then ended the night with a great dinner at Cowboy Club’s Silver Saddle Room where a virgin Prickly Pear Cactus margarita, and fried Prickly Pear were among the things we tried.

I’m pretty convinced my husband is aging backwards like Benjamin Button.

It was a nice break from the Phoenix heat and amazingly nice at night by the creek. Thanks so much to L’Auberge for everything, we love you guys.

Diana Elizabeth thought the Prickly Pear Cactus drink was actually very sweet and yummy!  What a surprise. As for the fried cactus, not much of a fan, but Mr. Wonderful ate it all up!
