It was about three years ago, that Ashley, myself and a mutual friend of ours we love to call “Loh” (who would later officially introduce us over a lunch) were members of The Valley of the Sun’s 20-30 Active Club. Our lovely Loh who is amazing with networking, suggested we get together and so we set up a lunch date. And over lots of giggles on a Friday afternoon at Scottsdale’s Olive & Ivy, you could say we became fast friends when we realized we had much in common. We were both former Fiesta Bowl Princesses back in our college days, we love Christ, and all things pink, girly, and frilly. We laugh at the same things. We retweet the same stuff, we are both in the wedding business, and now, on the committee team for the Arizona Princess Program, a program that puts on a prom for teenage foster girls.
Ashley is as girly as a girl can be. She has a gorgeous home office and a personality that will draw any bride in. Planning a wedding is no doubt stressful and Ashley will calm you down and handle it all for you. She’s the one you’ll want to hold your hand through all the decision making process, and the one you can’t wait to see aside from your handsome groom on your big day. Arizona brides, meet Ashley Gain, a gorgeously funny, personable and talented wedding coordinator that will make you laugh and help you create your perfect wedding.

A little Q&A session with Ashley for all you brides-to-be!
What is the difference between a coordinator at a venue and wedding coordinator?
Let me begin by saying both a Venue Coordinator and a Wedding Coordinator have very important jobs, and without both a wedding would not be complete. *smile*
A Venue Coordinator works directly for the venue. Their job is sell the venue and assure you on your space for your big day! They will arrange your tastings, give you a list of preferred vendors, design your room layout, answer any questions about the venue and of course make sure that your wedding follows the guidelines of their establishment. They know exactly how the space should be arranged and what looks best! So take their advice! A venue can very possibly have 4 to 5 weddings or events that the Venue Coordinator is juggling the weekend of your wedding. Because of their heavy workload and loyalty to all their events, they do not have the time to manage vendors, décor, or pay attention to your detail. They will coordinate all items that relate directly to the venue and ensure that they are perfect!
Welcome in the Wedding Coordinator, where all we attend to is YOU and the details of your big day! YOU are our client! We know your wedding inside & out, we know your vision of your day, what you are most excited for, and what you are feeling. A Wedding Consultant is your advisor and is the coordinator of your vision down to the last little detail. We coordinate all your vendors, develop a minute by minute timeline for them to follow, we know exactly how you want your escort card table to look, and how the bridesmaids should wear their hair. We can’t wait to see you at tastings, we are excited at your final dress fitting, we can’t help but cry when you have your first dance and give you a BIG hug before your grand exit wishing your night would never end!
We make your dream a reality all while you make ours a reality too!
What does your typical day look like?
I LOVE working! I love it so much that sometimes I get on one event and just can’t stop!
I divide my days into four parts:
- Social Media: I update my blog, Facebook and Twitter pages
- Planning hours: For my current weddings and events
- Inspiration/Entrepreneurial: This is my creative time. I do crafts, help brides come up with ideas for their weddings, basically allow my creative juices to flow!
- Business Development: Goals, goals, goals. I write them out weekly, I follow them daily and I dream constantly. I take time each day to make sure my business is headed in a forward direction.
What inspires you?
Love. That’s it. It is as simple and complicated as that. I fell in love with events and have been doing them for years. I fell in love with my husband and then decided to work in weddings. I have fallen in love with all of the couples I have worked with and am now addicted to seeing people have the perfect wedding day.
You’re going to be summoned to a deserted island for 1 year. What 3 things will you take with you?
The one thing that comes to mind is my iPhone! But assuming there is no service on their island here I go! First, my husband. I could actually stop here, but I will keep going. Second, my dog Cupcake. Third, my bible to give me hope that I would eventually get off the island and back to my iPhone.
Favorite “engaged” memory of yours?
This question almost made me cry! Being engaged was the best and I tried so hard to take it all in. I don’t really have one favorite! I loved my showers because I got to be with friends and family all at once. And then of course I got so many fun things to go into our home!
Advice to brides?
Being engaged goes really fast, don’t rush it. Take it in. Enjoy every little moment! I always tell brides to get a journal and write down how the planning and life is going! I did it when my husband and I were engaged and it is so fun to go back and read. I plan on letting my kids read it someday. *smile*
