As seen on: Gilt.com’s Halloween Shop

Remember this adorable Under the Big Top shoot designed by Phoenix event and designer Angela Saban?  The lovely Julie Read of Juju’s Tutus and felt accessories by Sweets By EJ were featured on Gilt.com‘s Halloween Shop earlier this month.  And yes, I got paid for my images.  Did you expect anything less from me after this post about giving away your images?

If you don’t know Gilt.com, it’s a great flash site for high end fashion, home goods and kid stuff.

I post this to remind you that if you’re a photographer, to charge a site like this to use your images. If they are going to make a pretty penny off your photos that sell the product, you are entitled to charge them what you see is fair.  A byline doesn’t pay the bills (if they even include one), and neither does a Facebook status brag – remember that.

Keep in mind that companies hire photographers and models to shoot the products they list and you are providing the same service, even if you already photographed it.  Keep your business mind sharp!  Thanks Gilt for the business!
