Upcoming Project: Wallpaper for my bathroom makeover

It’s time to refresh my bathroom which is the hallway bath. It’s my own bathroom – and I LOVE having my own bathroom. Benjamin’s bathroom is the master bath which is super tiny but works great for him. We have 2.75 bathrooms in our home (the .75 is my favorite guest bathroom which has a shower for overnight guests who stay in the garden room using the Murphy bed).

Back to my bathroom – it was gray then white and has been pretty basic for 10+ years. It is now time for me to spruce it up!

This is how it looks today (but the crystal knobs which were cheap have fallen off and I replaced them with CB2 nickel knobs) –

IMPORTANT to note – with a bathroom that is often used like lots of shower steam, it’s best to go vinyl in those spaces. For powder rooms that aren’t used often, you are fine with normal wallpaper. I ordered a few samples from DecoratorsBest.comUse code DIANAELIZABETH_ for 10% off your entire order   – remember I list promo codes on my Shop with Me page

Keep in mind most of these wallpapers below come in several color ways to fit your decor.

My sample choices:

A-Street Prints Lei Etched Leaves Navy Wallpaper (blue on blue floral) / A-Street Prints Lei Leaf Green Wallpaper  (green on green floral) / A-Street Prints Bali Fern Blue Wallpaper (blue fern leaf) / Brewster Home Fashions Good Dog Peel & Stick Jade (colorful Staffordshire dogs) / Brewster Home Fashions Asa Whimsical Trail Blue Wallpaper (birds on blue) / Brewster Home Fashions Asa Whimsical Trail Bone Wallpaper (birds on ivory) / Brewster Home Fashions Keller Ogee Light Blue (blue graphic print)

I know I need a vinyl for my bathroom that gets very humid with the daily showers. The peel and stick samples (just the dog print) might be for a different location but I wanted to share the ones that I think are pretty and contenders for now.

So my actual favorites are down to two – the bright green Staffordshire style dog print and the blue bird floral which is probably the wrong way in this photo. The problem is the humidity with a peel and stick (the green dog) will eventually fall from the walls over time (maybe??) and how humid the bathroom gets. The blue floral is a vinyl and will probably stay on the wall correctly and has a timeless quality to it.

Here’s a better list of the names if you want to find these vinyl wallpapers, I highly recommend samples before buying always! Here’s an image gallery so you can see the wallpaper samples on a larger scale wall.

Here’s a list of the wallpaper names if you want to buy them – remember to buy samples first, it’s worth it. Purchased from: www.decoratorsbest.com/dianaelizabeth_ (this link gets you 10% off)

What do you think? I have to touch up some wallpaper areas the house soon so I will do that all in the same day. I can’t wait to refresh this bathroom!

Now I want to replace the wall sconces in there too. The bathroom is chrome. If I were to do it over again I’d pick nickel because it’s a bit warmer, but that’s just how it is and I don’t want to change up the faucets and the shower so….I thought what second finish can I get for the sconces? How about either of these in wood – if you are buying from Ballard Designs use this link to get you $50 off $200 at Ballard Designs. It will automatically apply when you check out.

It comes in white, blue, and natural and the shade selection is extensive. The blue might get lost but I might want it to fade into the wallpaper… not sure yet.

I also thought about adding a shelf right above my faucet like they do in hotels for extra storage as so –

However my faucet is very tall. So note that when you buy faucets. When it is time for me to replace my faucets I will then add the shelf because I don’t think it gives the right look, such a bummer!

I haven’t really ever decorated my personal bathroom much. After almost 12 years I think I am ready to. There has obviously been so many other things to get to in our home which you have seen since I started blogging. There is always another project that awaits and I’m looking forward to this project which I hope to tackle this month! Stay tuned!

These are all so pretty , and the peel and stick good dog is hilarious. I’m thinking of using the Asa Whimsical Trail Bone Wallpaper for my entry/ downstairs living room, which came with wainscoting, so I’m curious to see how your project turns out . Thank you for the code.
