A few Ipsy makeup favorites
You have already heard about my monthly beauty sample subscription with Ipsy, just costing $10 a month including shipping and getting introduced to some really awesome new brands, and old favorites.
With about 5 samples being dropped off at my door monthly, I thought I’d pick a few that have been my favorites, ones that I then purchased (at a discount through Ipsy codes) and share them with you. I’ll be your makeup beauty tester!
A great SPF 42 BB Cream:
I believe this is a line created by an Asian company which is great for me – it means they really had my skin type in mind and usually Asian lines are into brightening which is great. I LOVE this BB cream a ton!
If you’re wondering about my color, I went with #31 Golden Beige since summer is here and I tan (naturally it’s unavoidable) until I look like another race. I did get a sample of #27 which is more yellow for the winter.
Exfoliating Sugar Scrub:
Faith Aromatherapy’s Tahitian Monoi Collection
This smells incredibly delicious I want to be trapped in a room like Phoebe and friends and have an excuse to eat it. You know that episode? Apparently you can also use it as a face scrub (if you have dry skin only).
Lip Polish that makes lips bigger:
Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in Dolly
When I first put this on, I did not like how it felt on my lips. It tingles to pretty much irritate your lips to make them fuller and more voluptuous looking. I don’t know if you’ve seen me, but I already have big lips, and I don’t say that to brag because when I eat a sandwich my lips fold down and leave lipstick marks on my chin. Big lip girl problems.
Anyway, I got used to it and I love the color, and now I can’t get enough. Sold at Sephora only.
Waterproof Eyeliner:
Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner by Jesse’s Girl
Because it’s allergy season and my eyes are always watery now. This is under $7!
Pencil eyeliner:
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil
Comes in a zillion shades, and it slides on like velvet! It stays soft for 30 seconds (if you need to smoke it) then dries to a long-lasting finish that won’t smudge. No parabens, sulfates or Phthalates.
Microdermabrasion Face Scrub:
Microdermabrasion Scrub by Dermae
I get monthly facials but this is just incredible stuff like you just got a microdermabrasion! It leaves your face feeling SO smooth, and I’ve used other scrubs similar but this is just great and the price point is awesome too. I leave it on the shelf in the shower so I can really get a good scrub and not worry about the mess.
So those are my favorites so far! It’s been a year being subscribed to Ipsy and I really enjoy it! If you want to sign up, click here. Goodies come in a new makeup bag. I use mine for other things, since one can never have too many little pouches for travel.
Diana Elizabeth is now reminded of when she worked at YES magazine, part of The Arizona Republic’s fashion supplement where she would test out beauty products.

Ipsy sounds awesome… and so does getting a facial! Any recommendations for an esthetician in Phx or Scottsdale?
