Home Expansion – What We’ve Learned so Far Selecting a General Contractor
Great news on the home expansion, we're moving forward and we've signed with a general contractor! After a ton of interviews, five to be exact, and hard decisions while learning about what we can or can't do on top of budgets, we are starting! We found someone that is already starting the tear down this weekend and project completion will be by February 1. So fast! We thought maybe it would be late spring. Of course I'd love it by Christmas but I think we're too late on a start with that and I've let that idea go. It's OK.
Christmas Card Design Decisions
Benjamin and I took our Christmas photos while on vacation, if I can give a hint I'll tell you it was in Yellowstone. My dad took the photo and I had the outfit and the day planned, the rest I didn't have planned and it turned out amazing.Do you keep your Christmas card photo secret or do you already start to post them immediately? I keep mine under wraps, because I know my friends like surprises.
Jeepin’ and Sight Seeing in Sedona
This past weekend I went exploring with girlfriends in Sedona - and since Emily had never been before, I booked us a Jeep tour! I picked a non-bumpy route I found on Groupon for a good $77 each (Safari Jeep Tour) and it was a wonderful sight-seeing route. This was the third Jeep tour I've been on, the others I've rode on were crazy bumpy up into the rocks (but of course beautiful) however I figured a nice drive was the best idea for Emily's first trip.
Sweet French Antiques in Concord + Life Updates
Hello Hello! Fridays seem more casual to me to throw in a personal post. Fridays seem so much lighter while Mondays I'm overly caffeinated and ready to start a fresh week of work. The styling workshop with Heather Bullard was great. I have so many notes I need to comb through and I'm remembering tips she told me. First, I was so excited to meet her, Heather has been someone I have admired for years.
Keeping Your Information Secure on Public Wi-Fi
Public wifi, so helpful and almost a must-have for everyone, whether you run a business or just living in the year 2018. From coffee shops, to hotels, free wifi is so appreciated if you don't have unlimited wifi on your devices. Believe it or not, I don't have unlimited data. I'm usually going over but I just don't want to pay for unlimited, and I have yet to be convinced I need it with public wifi readily available.
Boho Night with Light up LED Dream Catcher on a Budget Party Decor
I enjoy continually challenging myself to improve my personal habits and one of them is saving money. We can all improve and strive to find better ways to save and find deals, am I right? Benjamin always approves when I'm saving money - he also never hesitates to remind me we are on a "savings-spree" especially with the home expansion underway. I'm always looking for ways to save money through deals, or having days off from the bank account - remember my week long spending freeze?
Apple Hill, and some pumpkins
I packed my camera for the styling workshop I was attending and decided to bring it along to our morning trip to Apple Hill. I've blogged about this spot around the same time every few years. We went pretty early, made our typical stops and ate lunch and walked around some craft tents. There are a bunch of apple ranchers who sell apple everything. Think Bubba Gump Shrimp but Apple theme and you just drive around this area and stop at these spots and eat and be merry.
