I
have a funny but sad online shopping story that happened this weekend. I was online shipping past midnight on my laptop while watching TV and I was about to check out when the cart emptied out and my items disappeared. The flash sale was over and I didn’t check out fast enough. What were the chances? I was so devastated! Oh well, guess it was a sign from God I didn’t need it, but I still think I needed it.

I could live in white lightweight dresses right now (ironically I was in the middle of buying two white linen dresses before my online shopping cart timed out). White just makes you feel cooler during these hot temps, we’re nearly at 100 already here in Phoenix. I have been wearing this dainty diamond necklace almost every day which makes me feel dressed up. I love Dana Rebecca Designs, and recommend her line when friends ask for a jewelry line for finer pieces that won’t blow the budget. Her pieces are timeless and elegant and ones you will wear and own for a lifetime, and can one day pass down. Great idea for a gift too!

How are you doing? Benjamin’s ready to get back in the OR and help patients with his medical device and he’s been itching to leave, the hospitals are about to start elective surgeries again on May 1. I  just want to go to Home Goods and antique stores right now.

During this time I have completed so many house projects and learned how to cook a few more things. I have noticed when I’m a little less busy with work, it’s a blessing with my home life. I feel like a better wife honestly. I have more time to focus on what I can create for dinner, and I am less rushed in the kitchen to make something delicious and healthy opposed to quick and just wanting to get back to work.

I do miss my friends of course, it’s been nearly two months since I’ve seen anyone since I was gone in Taiwan for 3 weeks before everything else closed down. This has been especially hard for me when all I want to do is be around my friends right now. Since we’re on stay at home order, I am grateful for the outdoor shooting we can do around the house. These photos were taken in our open garage haha! I bought new patio furniture that will stay in this area for the time being until we get landscape work completed.

I have progress news on the home front – we did get ghosted by someone we thought would be reliable, it was so discouraging but I guess our project was too little for him to take on since he’s so busy but it would have been nice if he told us. Four weeks went by wasted! I don’t understand how people can just act like a quote is coming and it never does. We found someone else thanks to the app Next Door where neighbors give recommendations and it was a bit out of this world to me – but do I go back to the guy who kind of made me mad with his work? Ugh, like save money and lose my mind, or lose way more money and have peace of mind.  Thoughts? We have someone coming on Wednesday to dig out palm roots so we can finish up planting the corner area so another trip to the nursery is in order. So…. things are moving but very slowly around here which I guess is better than not moving at all. :)

Diana Elizabeth didn’t know Outlander was out with a new season (where has the advertisement?) so she’s been catching up which has been lovely and she needs to make plans to go to Scotland.
