1 year of Wedded Bliss
The saying goes that time flies when you’re having fun. I’m going to say that time flies even faster when you’re madly in love.
Today marks the 1 year anniversary of when I married my soul mate, Mr. Wonderful, Benjamin, at L’Auberge de Sedona, just six months after our first date. Under snow covered trees, under an umbrella that my dad held high above us to shield us from the falling snow, surrounded by 23 of our closest family and friends is where we exchanged our written vows. It was a day that I felt loved by everyone in attendance and especially from the man who would vow to be my husband forever and love me, protect me, and treat me like his dad treats his mom.
It was that day my heart was filled, my brain without a single doubt or worry, and as my girlfriends who got bustled around in the room getting ready with me, described me as the calmest they had ever seen, I was so quiet that it nearly worried them. The snow was a surprise gift from above that just made the day magical.
Today I am thankful. Thankful to have shared one fun filled year as a newlywed with my best friend – from living temporarily in Albuquerque to finally permanently moving back to Phoenix. Thankful that I had a friend praying feverishly for him to enter my life and thankful that our first meeting happened even though we wouldn’t date until a year and a half later. Thankful for every relationship in my past that didn’t work out so I could be with this man forever, one that has never broken my heart, never said a single mean thing to me, leads me to a better, brighter direction, and who I trust fully to follow to make me better and holy. Most of all, thanks be to God for truly knowing what is best, and giving me the best there is for me, for life.

Diana Elizabeth would like to thank again photographer Ryan Ray for capturing the most treasured day, friend and wedding event designer Ricki Uster of la Ricki, and makeup artist and friend, Lizzy Marsh for coming up and doing hair and makeup. You three completed the day, and seeing your faces made her so happy that you were there. Thank you to L’Auberge de Sedona and their amazing staff for the pretty setting, always saying yes, and just being one of the best resort staffs to ever exist.
