Y
ou know when they say bigger house/purse/closet you’ll fill it? The saying also applies to coffee tables. I had filled up my coffee table with so much that you had to scoot the items out of the way to put a glass of water or a plate down – which is the reason we have a coffee table right?

How to style your coffee table

So when Alice Lane Home sent over the large sting tray, it was so oversized and perfect to go right in the middle of the coffee table. It leaves about six inches on each side to actually use it. And, the coffee table still looks styled with some pretty things set inside the tray.

Use a tray

Find a large tray to corral all the things you will display. If you have a round table, use a round tray – something I learned on Alice Lane’s podcast called Dear Alice.

Have flowers or something green

A plant or fresh flowers – not too tall as to not to block your view of the TV.

Books

Use coffee table books to elevate a candle or flowers in a vase.

Have a candle

And don’t forget to protect your pretty candle with a candle dish from burning through furniture or the tray (speaking from experience).

Have some bowls or plates

For colorful decoration, or to put your favorite signature candy (mine is York). You could also use these unique horn bowls them for collecting matches or holding your matchbox.
