Perhaps you or someone on your street is the "new neighbor" and you feel it's time to say hello! Here are some ideas how to introduce yourself and create a friendly bond with your neighbors.
IF YOU'RE NEW, INTRODUCE YOURSELF!
When I first moved into my house, instead of waiting for neighbors to come to me, I decided to send a card to my neighbors introducing myself.
I GAVE SOME FACTS ABOUT MYSELF
I didn’t know their names so I wrote, “To my new neighbor, (address)”. I included some facts about myself, like where I moved from, my professional and my cell and email.
INVITE THEM OVER!
I welcomed them to stop by anytime since I worked from home. Neighbors stopped by! I also invited neighbors to my parties, they were always welcome!
WAYS YOU CAN INTERACT WITH NEIGHBORS
Let your neighbors use your tools (or ask to borrow theirs). Hire a neighbor kid to pet sit or mow your lawn. Have snacks for the neighborhood kids. Text them when you are planning to go away and ask them to look for mail or packages.
GO OUTSIDE AND SAY HELLO!
Go to neighborhood garage sales – it’s a great way to chat up your neighbors. Wave to your neighbors, even if you don’t know them – even if they are walking their dog.
