After I stunk up our home with the smell of cooked bacon, I knew no candle could mask the smell! So I whipped up this simmering pottpurri from one of my favorite blogs, Tuesdays with Dorie.
- 2 slices of lemon
- 2 slices of orange
- 2 sprigs of rosemary
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tsp. whole cloves
- 1 tsp. whole allspice
- a handful of fresh cranberries
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 cups of water
I had lemons and fresh rosemary on hand – I just had to get a few other spice ingredients and that was it!
Bring to a boil, simmer and then turn it off to let it cool. The husband loved it so much he wanted me to do it again the next day (Dorie says you can put it in the fridge and use it again the next day)!
As you can tell, I love citrus so I added more slices ;) It’s just heavenly.
You should make it before guests arrive. I love the sound of cranberries popping, not sure why!
