New year, new things I’ve replaced!

My mom and dad have been in town and Christmas is still up (slowly coming down but not yet because of company) so I’ve been purging in so many other ways. I love Christmas but you know we all have a threshold so we feel the need to declutter especially after the new year.

Anyway, a few things I’ve replaced because they looked tired. Something just clicked – or my mom said something haha and I was like you know what, life is too short, let’s enjoy!

New every day plates

My mom mentioned she didn’t like the scratches on our every day scalloped plates from Home Goods. She did bring up a good point from fresh eyes. So we went to World Market and my parents bought us new dishes I like that match our salad plates and bowls. Good for everyday and no utensil scratches on them!

New makeup brushes

I was finally cleaning my makeup brushes and I stopped and looked at them. They are old and terrible. Like what am I doing. Also why do I have so many?

So I went on Anastasia to buy some more eye brushes because that’s all I really need to replace.

New kitchen utensils

Another realization was I looked at some of our kitchen utensils. Wood was falling apart, some were so ugly I was using silver plated thrifted ladles that looked horrible, WHY. So, MacKenzie-Child’s had a 30% sale so I went and bought some new kitchen utensils that are adorable! I also need to go to Williams-Sonoma for a few more items.

We also recently got new pots and pans from All-Clad I found a set at Home Goods!

Some additional ideas to look to see are tired looking and you should consider replacing if it’s within your budget:

  • Bedsheets (including guest sheets)
  • Towels
  • Underwear (tee hee!)
  • Couch pillows (do they look flat? Tired? You need down filled not poly filled) I like designer pillow covered fabrics from Etsy).
  •  Pajamas and loungewear (just donate rarely tired looking ones, you’ll add new ones slowly)
Anyway, I’m sure I can keep adding to this list, but it’s always good to look around and see what looks tired and you can donate your older things and refresh!
