They met in high school.  He encouraged her in so many ways, especially in school.  She got straight A’s, she wanted to be just like him, smart, motivated, and she was.   She’d get mad and vent, he’d get quiet and listen.  He balanced her, always.

It was long ago when I took this photo of Ariel and Joey after she came up the stands at the end of her soccer game exhausted and sweaty.   She sat as Joey took off her shoes, shin guards, then socks.  It almost looked routine as he put new socks on her and fresh Keds.  I observed for a little while, then decided to leave them alone to head into the gym but not before turning around to quietly sneak back up the stairs to capture this sweet moment.

It was love.  Sure, young innocent high school love which over time has cultivated into a sweet, precious, forever type of love.   A & J are expecting Lilyana Elizabeth (middle name just like guess who…) to debut this May.

I introduce to you, my beautiful sister and her beautiful baby girl bump.

   Ahhh…. I saw these and didn’t even put it together that it was Ariel!!! Tell her congrats from me!!! (If she even remembers me:)) SO exciting!!
